It turns out that research is really hard for grade 3 kids, too! They've chosen their topic, and 2 or 3 subtopics for their research, and they are now starting to record information and ideas from a variety of sources. We're going to need to train them on taking jot notes, using their own words, recording only what matters, and making sure they understand what they write down. We'll start a series of lessons on this tomorrow.
Speaking of tomorrow, we're going to be introducing the students to the final rubric that they co-created yesterday. They are getting very good at reflecting on their learning with the bullseye rubrics.
Question of the Day:
What topic have you chosen for your social studies research project? What was one thing you learned?
Have a great night!!
