Hello Everyone!
Today the students worked on their non-fiction paragraphs. They completed a quick assessment to see what they remembered from last year as they crafted paragraphs with topic sentences, body sentences, and clincher sentences. We'll take their work, talk about it, and build a rubric for our work tomorrow. Tomorrow, we will continue our work on the regions of Alberta.
Setting goals is very important as we create intrinsically motivated and engaged, reflective learners. The students have been thinking about what they would like to work on in their learning. Throughout the classroom students are all simultaneously working on a independent goals, recording their successes, and building themselves as learners. These goals are starting to be recorded in IRIS, so that they will be able to connect them to work in the future.
