)Hello,
Learners started the day with making revisions and additions ("Blasting Off") their social studies presentations. Learners will be presenting this Friday. What could learners share with their family members about the steps taken to "Blast off"?
Learners started construction of their catapults, taking into account their knowledge of simple machines, such as with:pulleys, levels, fulcrums, loads and forces. What can learners share with their family members about how they incorporated their knowledge of simple machines?
This afternoon, learners reflected on the processes involved with prototyping and construction of their machines made of bicycle parts. Learners created a visual journal page consisting of their designs, constructions process, how it works, real-life applications, next steps (if there was more time as well as challenges and successes of the experiences).
We concluded the day with our practice Evacuation Walk and collating work from throughout the school year to take home.
Thanks,
Mr.Smith and Mr.Mackenzie.
note: the photo below shows some of the catapults being built.
