Well, the kids did a great job with the artists in residence today! They reinforced their learning about the 4 countries we are studying as they began their visual journal project. The kids did a "wash" of watercolor paper, using warm/cool colors of their choosing. The next steps will be experimenting with composition as they move their photos around to represent their country.
In writing, students continued their work around deconstructing stories by writing descriptive paragraphs and sketching the setting for different books. This was an excellent learning task as students were able to remember topic and clincher sentences and they were able to apply their nonfiction writing skills in a different context.
Tomorrow we are very excited because we are going to continue our work around division, as well as our artwork.
Question of the Day:
Can you solve 4 x 3 = 12 as repeated addition?
