What an amazing day in grade 3!
Today we had two different opportunities to skip count by 2,5,10 and even 100. The first time we began to read If the World Were a Village. We needed to get to 100 in the most efficient way. The second time, Mrs. Hordyk gave us a pile of play money. We had to figure out exactly how much money it was. Skip counting was very helpful.
In Social Studies we analyzed all our stickies. We highlighted them pink if they were a need and green if they were a want. We had a really good discussion about whether or not money was an actual need or want. Tomorrow we will dive even deeper by looking at the needs for a good quality of life and determining which are the 3 most important.
Terry would have been very proud of not only our running skills, but our appreciation for what he has done for cancer research. Thank you parents for your contributions, from making a donation to volunteering at the run. It was a huge success!
Have a wonderful evening!
Tomorrow is a spelling Test.
