Alright parents, we're getting excited for the big show tomorrow! Please note the following:
-The morning performance is at 9 am. Feel free to come and watch!
-The afternoon performance begins at 6, but we'd like the kids here ready in their costumes at 5:40. The kids can go directly to our classroom as they wait for their time on stage.
-Please have kids come in their costumes tomorrow. If you don't have the costume, don't go out and buy it - there are some extra kicking around here!
-Please pick your child up when the entire show is complete! The show will likely be around 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Performances are so much fun to watch. The kids have been practicing hard, and they are learning their lines. The plays started at 10 minutes, but as they practiced more the timing was improved and they got it down to around 5. Tomorrow we should have them set at around 4 minutes! Practice makes perfect, so we'll keep practicing. It still amazes us how much work can be done in 1 week!
The students are working on their assessments for math as well. We would like the kids to understand fractions. Some key learning we're working on:
-naming fractions
-describing numerators and denominators
-understanding that fractions have to be equal parts
-fractions can be part of a whole or part of a set
-understanding commons fractions (1/2, 1/4, 1/8, etc.)
-understanding greater/less than between fractions
Question of the Day:
Answer our question from yesterday! It's all about fractions, and we didn't get enough answers!
