Today was the start of a great week.
Students created a creative journal page outlining their top 3 needs for a good quality of life. They used our creative journal visual rubric to assist them in organizing their information and meeting criteria.
In math, students continued to increase their speed and accuracy of skip counting. They used a data sheet to record their money. Tomorrow we will be investigating what happens when we already have $6 and we need to skip count by 5's.
Students were provided information about SLA's today. We let them know that it is an assessment tool used to inform both parents and teachers. It is to help us understand them better as learners. The SLA's are broken in to 2 main subjects: Literacy and Numeracy. Each subject is broken into 2 types of assessments. One is done on the computer, while the second is a written. Each type of assessment is also broken up into 4 or 5 tasks to allow for them to be completed in different settings.
As a grade 3 team, we will be beginning the written task for Numeracy this week.
We will continue to provide more updated information as we complete tasks and where we are headed next.
The following link is also a parents guide to the SLA's.

We sent home an informational item about School Connects. Please read and return.
Have a wonderful evening!
