1 452 is a 4-digit number. The students were presented with similar numbers today in math, and were expected to complete the following work:
Make the number by...
1. Adding two numbers
2. Subtracting two numbers
3. Adding or subtracting more than 2 numbers
4. Using pictures or visuals
5. In an unusual way
The students worked on more complex numbers, as well, as they explored mathematical reasoning.
In Science today, students finished their reflections about our Reduce, Reuse, Recycle work. Their journal pages accurately depicted the purpose of recycling, what goes in each bin, and what the three Rs actually represent.
We also reflected on ourselves as learners today. We are beginning to examine the learning readiness skills that might impact our learning. What do we need and how do we know we are ready for learning? Students discussed topics such as being on time for school, having healthy lunches, choosing good spots to sit and working with the right people. We have completed several learning inventories that will help us to better understand ourselves as learners, and use these as a tool for setting personal and academic goals.
