Today was an outstanding day, it was extremely good to see everyone again and to meet some new students. We kicked off the day with some visual journalling, looking at objects that inspired us to write and sketch about our summer. We also had lots of fun playing some "getting to know you" games and icebreaker activities. We read the Busy Beaver by Nicholas Oldland and discussed the principles of care and how they connect to our learning. The principles are: Care for Self, Care for Others, Care for Place and Care for Learning. We will use this language to guide our learning and routines throughout the year.
Tomorrow, we will be looking at artist Henri Matisse and how his work can inspire some projects in the classroom. We will also discuss student responsibilities.
Question: What are important responsibilities that should be held by students in our classroom and school?
Have a great night!
Mr. MacKenzie and Mrs. Frampton
