This week we have been developing a number or strategies for multiplication and have been working hard on understanding how and why we multiply. At this point, students should be working towards understanding the numbers behind the operations. Why we carry, why we regroup, why we might use expanded notation to solve multiplication problems connected to area and measurement.
In Science, students have been looking at light and shadows. We have created a project page for them, here. If you scroll down, you will see student thinking as they asked deep questions and narrowed them down to "The Sun". We have developed our experiment, and we are excited to get move on with it next week!
Every year we collect donations for the Poppy Fund. The money raised helps people who fought in wars or served in the military. Many of these people were hurt and have no one to help them. Some are growing older and have no food to eat. They don't have enough money for a good quality of life. We are raising money for the Poppy Fund here at Evergreen. There will be a jar for your donation in the office. Donations will be collected next week. Any amount is fine. Nothing is too small or too big.
Thank you for helping. The Veterans appreciate it and so do we.
