Your children were outstanding today! As they entered the classroom, they immediately gathered their materials and began working. They all deserve a pat on the back!
Students practiced beginning their stories today, this time they focussed on using sound effects to grab the readers attention. The picture prompt is below. It's fairly scary, so scroll at your own risk!
We also continued our work on subtraction, and found that students need to be challenged more. As such, we will begin "buying" items as we practice 2 and 3-digit subtraction. If the opportunity presents itself, please talk about money with your children (although we won't be moving into decimals at this point).
Tomorrow we are excited to become geologists. Students will be introduced to the rock cycle and will participate in a number of tasks to help cement (haha) their learning.
We will be sending home pictures tomorrow for those that did retakes.
Have an excellent night!
